Hi! I’m Henry the Hourglass Dolphin!

I live in the icy cold waters surrounding Antarctica. My family and I swim in groups called pods that can reach up to 100 dolphins, though our group is usually closer to 8 or 14. I have at least 39 cousins of different species though, so we’re never lonely!

I got my name because I have a beautiful white hourglass pattern along my black body. Though I’m shorter than my cousins, we still love speed! I love riding the waves of fast boats and spraying the surface with sea water as I come up for air. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

I like to eat fish, squid, and crustaceans with my family near the surface of the water, which often draws birds that try to steal my food.

One of my favorite things to do is to challenge my family to races. What’s one of yours?

You can take Henry home with you!
